Rosh Hashannah – September 2019

During lessons about alternative cultures and beliefs, we have learnt about Rosh Hashannah.  This is a Jewish Religious Festival celebrating the New Year,  it occurs at the end of September and is a time of reflection where Jewish people ponder what is important in their lives. The Jewish faith believe that God judges them at this time and considers the good and bad things that they have done.  After a special service at the synagogue, Jewish people have a special meal where apples are dipped in honey and served to the congregation and this symbolises a sweet year ahead.  To celebrate the festival,  we made honey & apples and, honey biscuits which were very delicious.
