At The Holden School, safeguarding is more than a policy; it is our collective commitment to ensuring every student feels secure, valued, and empowered. We take proactive steps to promote the welfare of our children and shield them from harm.
Our Core Commitments
- To provide a caring, secure, and positive environment within the school.
- To encourage clear communication, strong self-esteem, and self-assertiveness.
- To effectively tackle and eradicate bullying and harassment.
- To promote all aspects of the Equality Act 2010.
- To ensure all staff receive appropriate, up-to-date training in Child Protection and Safeguarding, and are fully aware of all school procedures.
- To provide the infrastructure for robust and effective reporting, record keeping, and partnership working.
Our Purpose
The welfare of the child is paramount in every decision we make. We work tirelessly to:
Cultivate a school environment that is consistently safe, supportive, and focused on the individual needs of the child.
Shield students from harm and maltreatment.
Nurture their health and development to prevent any impairment.
We expect all staff and visitors to adhere to conduct that ensures our children are safeguarded at all times. This includes a mandatory duty for any safeguarding concerns to be immediately reported to our designated leads:
Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Dave Smith
Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL): Laura Kenealy
